Centring text in Illustrator and Photoshop

Unlike Adobe Indesign, which ignores the space at the end of each line, please make sure you don’t fall into the trap of leaving a space at the end of the line in either Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop as this will decentralise your text. It is very easy to overlook this particularly if you are working in Indesign a lot of the time which handles this kind of thing automatically. I guess that is why you generally typeset in Indesign rather than in Illustrator for most projects.

For those people working in packaging that generally prefer to work in Illustrator this is particularly something to look out for. However, when I have worked on packaging projects in the past, we have always used Indesign as the package of choice due to its superior handling of type.
